Resolve launch, import, proxy, sync, licence and agent connection problems using the app’s actual states.

Start with the message on the screen. About → Copy version gives the app build; Copy path gives the data directory. On a server, run cloutctl system doctor before changing files.
A profile will not start

A failed launch is not a reason to re-roll the fingerprint. Resolve the named engine, connection or session problem first.
The profile opens signed out
Check whether you imported or exported cookies separately. Profile exports exclude them. Importers can obtain a session only when their source supplies or exposes one.
In Edit profile → Launch and data → Browser data, use Check this profile. Review pending cookies and the account version. Keep local cookies cancels a pending restore when that is your intended decision; it does not fabricate a valid session.
Check Clear before each launch in Settings → Startup. Cookies, Local storage and IndexedDB clearing can remove session state. A cookie-domain count in Signed-in sites does not prove the site accepts that session.
A proxy check succeeds but the browser has another exit
The saved-book check tests the saved credential. A profile can have its own session parameter. Enable Open IP check page under Startup and inspect the launched profile’s actual exit.
A provider gateway and its public exit IP are different addresses. Rotate only when you intend to change the provider session, then read which profiles were skipped.
Importing finds nothing
Open the source app and follow that vendor’s requirements. Use Check again after a sign-in or account change. For GoLogin, paste an API token; local installation alone does not provide a usable credential to the current dialog.
For Dolphin, keep the app running and signed in. If the running-session path is unavailable, use the token fallback. A refused optional Keychain read is not a broken profile.
A profile marked Already here is intentionally not selected. Use the existing row or review a Clout file replacement rather than trying to overwrite it through discovery.
Sync is not updating another computer

Confirm Save to my account for a newly created profile. A local-only row cannot appear on another computer through account sync. Close the source browser and let its upload complete before starting on the destination.
If both sides changed, use the amber conflict marker and review every field. Repeatedly pressing Save does not resolve a revision conflict.
My subscription is read-only
Check Billing and the licence banner. A lapsed subscription, a payment problem and an expired offline cache require different fixes. Refresh the licence after restoring connectivity or completing payment.
A local API write can fail for the same reason. Creating more rows through a script does not bypass account limits. An open invitation can account for a seat that looks unused in the member list.
The Local API is enabled but unavailable
Enabled, but not running means the saved switch is on but no server is listening. Use Restart. Could not start on port names a failed bind; free that port or choose another and save.
A fallback address is a working server at a different port. Copy the shown address. Scripts using the old port may be reaching another application.
For HTTP 401 with “Invalid or missing API key”, check the header and current token. The token box’s blank value keeps the stored token; it does not set an empty one.
My agent cannot connect
Keep Clout running and the Local API on. Make Node available to the MCP client process. Copy setup from this installation’s MCP page, then restart or refresh the client as its displayed steps require.
“The MCP server is missing from this installation. Update or reinstall Clout Browser.” means the bundled server file is absent. Changing ports cannot restore that file.
For the CLI, Node 24 or later is required. A Node version sufficient for the MCP card may still be too old for cloutctl.
Where are Tasks and Referrals?
The desktop has no Tasks or Referrals navigation destination in this build. Scripted tasks exist in the Local API and CLI. Use their references for those operations; do not look for a hidden desktop page.
Does clearing cache delete cookies?
Clearing only Cache is separate from deleting Cookies. Review the selected kinds in Startup, per-profile clear-on-close settings or the command you are running. A broad storage clear is not a cache-only operation.
Can I make a clone for a different Creator?
Choose Generate a fresh Clout fingerprint for a new SunBrowser identity. Keeping the source fingerprint produces another profile claiming the same machine. The clone does not copy the source browser directory or signed-in session.
Send a useful support report
Include the app version, OS, profile ID, the action you attempted and the exact refusal. Use Copy diagnostics when requested and inspect the report before sharing it.
Keep passwords, cookie exports, API tokens, join tokens and customer names out of the report. The app’s Help menu links to the guide and community; Clout support is the contact route.
